We’re almost at the end of 2023, and this year has blinked past as quickly as the last few have. Whether you are surrounding yourself with family and friends this year at Christmastime doesn’t matter. The idea is that you should ensure you have something to open on Christmas morning. You don’t have to rely on anybody else to get you a gift this Christmas, especially if you are somebody who is solvent and making their own money. Christmas is all about the people in your life that you love, as you know.
But that doesn’t necessarily mean that you should expect a gift from anybody else, even if you do. You are the person you shouldn’t forget on your list, no matter what your idea is of the perfect present. You should make a gift giving something you do for yourself as much as what you do for other people, and here’s why.
- You are going to improve your own mood. Knowing that you’ve bought yourself something that you actually want and will get some use out of is always going to make you feel the happiest. You can always relate to that feeling when you were a kid, feeling excited about the gifts you were going to get at Christmas time. So think about how excited you get when you know the delivery man is bringing you something that you have paid for yourself.
- It’s a treat for you. When you earn your own money, you get to determine how you spend it. That means that it’s a treat for yourself, and you are going to feel that excitement about the treat that you have given yourself after all of your hard work this year.
- It’s a form of self-care. Choosing new means that you are putting yourself first for a change. That means that if everybody else hasn’t got you a gift this Christmas, you are still guaranteed to feel important because you know that the number one person in your life still loves you: yourself.
- You know you’re going to love it. When you have a gift that you have bought yourself, you know that you’re going to love it. You know that the money you’ve paid for this gift is going to be exciting for you. This means that you’re going to feel excited on Christmas morning, and you know exactly what reaction you’re going to get. You don’t have to plaster on a smile because you know you’re going to love it.
- Because you deserve it. You’ve worked hard all year long, you’ve saved your money, you’ve gone to work, you’ve paid your bills, and now it’s time to treat yourself. What better time of the year to treat yourself than Christmas?
